Says it all really

The trowel is a real dive nowadays.
Staff are incompetent, rude and foul mouthed.
Seems to only have one use and thats as an office for Timmy Chesters shoddy car repairs.
Q. What three words could you use to make chester leave the pub before last orders?
A. Reciept, Refund or Taxman.

The quality of food compliments the atmosphere in this pub, i have not been to the trowel for a while but opon returning hearing there was new owners i was very pleased indeed with the service the happy atmosphere, we had a lovely meal here today and with all the children happy in the pool, and the icecreams well done indeed.

this pub is getting worse and worse. It's no longer pleasant to go there - quite the reverse. The music is always far too loud - even if you go out in the garden it's loud. It's as if the attitude is "you'll listen tp the music whether you want to or not". I like country pubs for the peace and quiet, for chatting to friends and for tranquil gardens. If I want loud thumping music and extremely foul mouthed customers, I'd use a city centre pub.

Tango???? Is that the member of staff that looks orange???
Isnt it odd that you get a few bad reviews, so now a good one posted, new chef indeed? what a load of rubbish
This site is useless, its not being used for what it meant to be, it is just point scoring between pubs, grow up tango!!!
This pub is still rubbish and getting fewer and fewer customers

Thank god the Bull welcomed us with a smile. The fact that the trowel has had 3 different owners in 5 years...beware

I have in the past defended this establishment. I must apologise for this incorrect action. Tonight with a party of 4 one of the steaks was cold. It took ages to get a fresh one (that never arrived) and we were asked to not come back. EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE FOLKS (unless you are prepared to never complain).

I think some people are happy with ordinary pub grub - I myself am looking for a far wider menu that this. I cannot see much difference in the food since the new people took over than before - and have never seen them yet - only a 'manageress' that doesn't seem to know how to smile. Please give the menu an overhaul.

Eaten there a few times, wish I knew what days off Mandy has, when she has not been there the service has been next to snails pace. Food on the whole is pretty good but just pub grub nothing more.

3 comments on posted 06/02/2008 all within 20 mins of each other seems a bit suspect to me. Something i might do if i was the owner getting bad reveiws?????

I never would of belived this pub could turnaround so quickly, the food is excellent, Staff are efficient, and new owners certainly know what they are doing. Thank god we have our pub back.

Great new owners here, i couldn't of enjoyed my evening more, well done it is just what the pub needed.

I think the new landlady is excellent she has a great sense of humour, and the food now has improved 100%. The pub has a great atmosphere now, and the staff are actually happy, unlike the way they looked with the previous owner!

I am surprised to see a comment by Julian. Was it extremely late in the evening as we have been most welcome in the night and food seems to flow far later than one would normally expect a meal.
